The Biblical Resurrections

We read the following in the Book of Daniel.

“And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt” (Dan. 12:2, NKJV).

The bodies of the saved will go immediately to heaven when they die and will receive some type of temporary body as they await the resurrection – absent from the body, present with the Lord (2 cor. 5:1-8). The Bible teaches that there will be a bodily resurrection at which time we will receive a new physical body. Those who are saved will receive bodies like Jesus’ resurrected body ( Phil. 3:21).
